Christmas Program

The children/youth and some parents put on a wonderful Christmas production last night. Hats off to Patti- and the parent volunteers for all the hard work.
Good job kids for the singing, acting and all the fun you had.
I love watching kids have fun. That's part of the miracle of the Christmas story is that our God- Our Lord and Savior was once a kid- running around and having a good ole time.
I was especially proud that Danny, our three year old, nailed his memory verse- that was pretty fun to watch- as was the Little Drummer Boy.
About 80 people were there to enjoy it- and I hope everyone did.
We have a couple of candlelight Christmas Eve services this year- one at 7pm and one at 11pm.
If you are in town, or nearby- come on in and worship with us Christmas Eve.

A Snowy Couple of Weeks

We have experienced some snow in the last couple of weeks. We are living in a winter wonderland- all covered in white. Thankfully most of the roads are passable.
Winter is fun for a lot of us. It means snow ball fights, sledding and skiing for some. But for others the snow makes life more difficult and lonely. It is harder to get out for many of our seniors- it makes the routines of life just a bit harder. We pray for those effected by the winter weather- those who have trouble getting out and those who may have been injured due to falls or accidents. We also pray for us "able-bodied" folks who enjoy the snow- to remember and reach out to those who don't love the white stuff so much.
This Sunday was Dec. 3rd and it was a good first Sunday of Advent. We have a good amount of capable worship leaders and worship was good. We also celebrated communion and that is always good. There were over 100 people there and that was good too. After worship we had the annual open house at the parsonage. It was a full house- not much room to run around. It was a lot of fun. It was great to have folks to our home- the church's house. Some people were there for the first time.
At the youth parent night there was a lot of activity. The youth began the making of a film that I hope eventually to show to shut ins....we'll see how it develops. Also a bunch of our youth and kids are working on the Christmas program- it looks like full speed ahead there.
peace out- have a great Advent season.
