A Snowy Thanksgiving Sunday

Lots of snow here in Palouse- well two or three inches anyway.
We had a wonderful guest preacher here on Sunday. Rev. Guadalupe Vasquez came from Pasco to share about his ministry there and also to share some music. He and his family sang beautifully. He then preached an inspiring message from Luke 19:1-5.
I really appreciated them getting up so early to drive all the way to Palouse and then they had to turn right around to get back to Pasco in time for their evening service.
Youth/Family night was a lot of fun last night. Not a lot of people there- but those of us there had a grand time.
I hope people realize that the Sunday evening dinners are for anybody and everybody. Last night was a real good meal of Lasagna.

Harvest of Community Award Winners

Hi folks- its been a while since anything has been posted here on the church blog. Non-posting is the death of blogs. I have onl myself to blame- sorry.
There has been plenty going on, that's for sure.
We have our annual Harvest Dinner at the church this upcoming Sunday. We are honoring two community servants with the Harvest of Community Award. This year the Diaconate voted Norm and Sandy Schorzman to receive the award. They are owners of the Palouse Healthy Center. Sandy is a Nurse Practioner. Norm is on the city council. They both volunteer in a number of ways in Palouse. Norm is in charge of the main street corn field that turns into a corn maze every October. Sandy still makes house calls- her kind, dedicated service improves the quality of life for many people in Palouse. Thanks for serving our community Norm and Sandy!
In other news- Our Sunday night dinners are very popular lately. We have served about thirty people on each of the last two Sunday nights. It is a great opportunity for young and old to get together and enjoy each other's company- and then some folks stay for the evening worship. We're not busting out the doors with our evening attendance- we usually have less than ten- but it is a peaceful time of worship that is appreciated by those who participate.
We now have a Sunday school class for pre-schoolers. They have a lot of fun. The Sunday School teachers are doing a great job this year. Thanks for your hard work! Our Sunday school kids and parents were behind an effort to receive coat donations and then in turn we set up the coats at the community center- for any youth or adult in need.
We have a couple of guest speakers this month- I'm not on vacation or anything- I will blog about it all later.
